Gaby invites Jimmy to speak to her class. When Derek ends up in the hospital, Liz has issues with their son. Paul has an important realization.
It’s nice to have this illusionary idealistic dream of some company of completely random people hanging together. And, they’re all being not idiots, not fighting each other for some stupid reason. They all think about the world carefully, all have morals, all talk straight and without lies, or when they lie, it’s some tiny little lies. They forgive a guy who killed their mother, they casually have sex with strangers or each other, and everyone is adult … and so on, and so forth. It’s just so unreal, which makes it a happy place to be in.
I guess that’s what made Friends popular back in the day. They try to repeat some successful recipe here.
