A missing child causes four families to help each other for answers. What they could not imagine is that this mystery would be connected to innumerable other secrets of the small town.

The series is good, but the first season is especially boring.

Personally, I hate this number of characters. It’s very difficult to understand all their relations. Maybe, I’d watch it second time, and enjoy more. But I’m not ready yet.

Maybe when I’d grew old … one day …

Second season gets things more clear, and the final season explains most things.

By the end of it, the whole setting is much more clear. All these characters are interconnected, and it’s some pleasure to connect them in my mind.

Finishing this feels like some big achievement, for some reason. Maybe, because keeping all these characters and how they relate to each other is quite a challenge, at least for me.

I’m hesitant whether to put it into the masterpiece category. I’d not put it into my primary blog’s same category, but I’d put it here. It’s a solid work.

The time-twisting madness reaches its conclusion in a strange new world, where some things are quite familiar — and others are disturbingly not.

Third season is being the best of all three. I wonder how this whole series survived the first two seasons.

E.g. Counterpart was much better, but it was cancelled after season 2. I personally think there was no need for season 3.

Okay. It is not masterpiece, but it wasn’t bad too. I cannot say whether I would recommend the whole series.

It was pretty long to my liking.

Maybe I will.

I’d say it wasn’t typical either. At least, it’s not this typical Hollywood. I like the whole setting, the actors.

So, it’s a solid work, if we take it as a whole.

Across three centuries, Winden’s residents continue their desperate quest to alter their fate and save their loved ones.

So, they try to implement parallel realities here too. How many? Just two? More?

Who is Agnes, daughter of Bartos?

So Silvia is daughter of Hanna, mother of Jonas. His sister.

Why Claudia is alive in here? What’s with Martha? Is she alive? Why has nothing changed?

More questions than the answers. There’s just one episode left.

Adam holds Martha captive in 2020. On the day of the apocalypse, an increasingly frantic Martha begs Bartosz for his help.

Honestly, I’m so tired of this series already.

So Martha was killed by Jonas / Adam in some very weird way, by the apocalypse. Also, the apocalypse was created by the son of Martha.

I did not understand the flex of this dual world with Jonas being dead and alive at the very same time. It’s so complicated and it is honestly too tiresome.

Also, again, I don’t like this flex that nuclear station can be easily the reason of the apocalypse. You just turn some valves and poof! The planet is gone! Yet, the world seems to be completely fine with Russians occupying Zaporizhzhia power plant.

Really, I still see this whole thing as an anti-nuclear propaganda piece to finish north stream from Russia. Isn’t it, Frau Merkel? 😒

I don’t like this series. It gives some inspiration indeed, but it’s mostly a waste of time.

Two episodes left. I hope they will try to explain all that. But by this point it looks very bad.

Maybe it’s in ‘so bad that it’s good category.’

In 2020, a visitor delivers a warning to Claudia. The day before the apocalypse, Jonas begins to question Eva’s motives.

Jonas is killed. By Martha. Okay. What’s next?

Martha and Jonas travel to 2052 and get a glimpse of a grim future. In 1954, two residents of Winden go missing, and Hannah receives surprising news.

What is the first reason?

Who is the new kid of Jonas’ mother? Hanna. And Katherina in 50s. So she met the mother of Katherina, while she was doing this pregnancy removal. Also, she left her the medallion.

Aha. So the creepy triple man is the son of Martha and Jonas, right?

Six months after the disappearances of Mikkel, Jonas and Ulrich, Winden’s web of mysteries deepens – and the fate of the world hangs in the balance.

The second season is better, yet it’s only the season 3 when things become at least interesting to follow.

I have 5 more episodes to decide whether this whole series was a waste of time or not. Or rather whether the wasting was catastrophic or not.

However, it leaves some room to think about the whole plot.

Charlotte and Ulrich try to piece together what happened in the bunker. In different times and worlds, Jonas and Martha work to gain each other’s trust.

New blind guy. And sone ruthless murderers.

So, they try to make references to Time Machine by Herbert G. Wells.

The three murderers work for this other Martha. And looks like they created this black matter.

The new Martha looks like an antagonist. Alongside Adam.

At this point I understand mostly nothing. Why they repeat all that again and again and again?

Martha travels to 1888 to warn her friends about the 2020 disaster. Winden residents past and present search for their missing loved ones.

So many new questions:

• Who is the blind man in 1888?
• What had Jonas written to himself?
• Who are the three men? They remind me of the dawn, day, and dusk from Foundation. Same man, different ages.

In 2019, Jonas emerges from the cave into a strange but familiar world: the town of Winden, reeling from the recent disappearance of a young boy.

It’s much better in this parallel universe. I like it, how inverted this parallel universe is.

Magnus is like Loki. Stylish.

I wonder if they turned all the actors horizontally.

21 September 1988, on I like it! Who is this new Jonas of 1988?! Or is it our Jonas, who went into the past, to prepare for something.

On the day of the apocalypse, Clausen executes a search warrant at the power plant as Jonas and Claudia use the time machine to connect past and future.

It’s the final episode of the season. I expect it should finish somehow epically.

However the first season was quite disappointing in that department. I guess it would never engage me, if not for my wife.

So, the future is almost not shown. The deaf girl, her role is unclear too.

Aha. It is clear now, at the 27m. She’s the mother of her mother. Emmett Brown is fucking turning in his grave!

Wow, there is another Martha. From parallel universe, or what. The one that is not killed. It’s getting crazier and crazier.

What means that the mother-and-daughter-girl meets with her daughter-and-mother-woman.

Martha meets the Stranger and learns his true identity. Claudia tries to prevent Egon’s death in 1987. Hannah travels to 1954 to see Ulrich.

White devil. What is that?

Boris is arrested.

Katharina Nielsen. So she travelled back in time too.

The new policeman lost his brother in 1986 too. And he bears the name Boris stole.

Self-fulfilling prophecies all around. So Claudia killed her dad, trying to save him, by taking him to her home.

Jonas, did he start manipulating already? Who manipulates whom?

The whole series is getting much better, yet it’s still too complicated for me to grasp, all these people.

Also, we have seen both

Armed with a plan to prevent the apocalypse, Jonas travels to 2019. During the Nielsens’ anniversary party, Ulrich sneaks off with Hannah.

Boris (Alex) killed someone’s, with somebody too. Who is his partner, and who did they kill?

What was about the naked girl lying face down in the river?

I don’t get, what was the meaning of it? Just to attract teenagers?

Or did they try to show part of their love-story? It looks so unnecessary in here. The girl is stunning, no questions.

Oh, and also, Jonas made this self-fulfilling prophecy.

In 1987, Ulrich seizes an opportunity. The kids return to the cave with the time machine, and Jonas learns of a loophole that could change the future.

So the apocalypse, 27 June 2020.

A powerful moment of Mikel and his father reunion.

Policewoman, Charlotte, did not say who her parents are. Also, she said the clock master isn’t her real grandpa.

So. Noah is her father.

So. Who’s her mother then?

What a horrible fate for the bad policeman, Ulrich.

It’s getting more and more complicated.

Jonas meets an ominous figure. While the kids comb the cave for answers, the adults gather in the bunker to share what they know about the travelers.

So, Jonas travelled from the future (2052?) to much earlier.

Well, it’s 1921.

I think new head of police is this Adam. That weird man with melted skin. Or if no, then he’s some weird character too.

So, Jonas is unable to travel back. How is this corridor works then?

Also, if they’re the time travellers, why not bring some LED lamps from the future to 1921?

What if Adam is Jonas?

Oh. He is.

In 1954, a missing Helge returns, but he’ll only speak to Noah. In 1987, Claudia brings the time machine to Tannhaus, and Egon questions Ulrich again.

So, they started showing scenes of sex, those that are pretty normal today, but not back then, a century ago. E.g. a lesbian sex.

Also, Claudia had some sexual relationships with the dad of

Clausen and Charlotte interview Regina. The Stranger takes Hannah to 1987, where Claudia has an unnerving encounter and Egon visits an old nemesis.

So Jonas returned back. Or — escaped that dystopian future, that’s all we know for now.

The Noah, Adam, they look pretty much as a cult. It’s all quite eerie. It’s getting more interesting, but at this point I still would say it’s not worth it. Maybe it’ll get much better over time.

However, that whole setting gives me some food for thought. There are a couple of new ideas. Particularly this ‘time travelling, but within only 33 years flat, no Marty McFly ability to choose any second on the time scale.

Also, we have no idea who are the parents of the policewoman. We only know that her grandpa is the one who made the time machine.

Six months after the disappearances, the police form a task force. In 2052, Jonas learns that most of Winden perished in an apocalyptic event.

The future is very depressing. For some reason, they cannot return (that easily) from the future.

A missing child sets four families on a frantic hunt for answers as they unearth a mind-bending mystery that spans three generations.

The first season is meh. I won’t say it’s something special.

Peter gets a shock. Jonas learns the truth about his family, but there are more surprises still to come. Helge makes a sacrifice.

The beginning is creepy.

They totally ignore the time space continuum.

Now we know that the stranger is Jonas himself. It was pretty obvious.

The end shows us the future, finally.

Ulrich runs afoul of the law, Helge tries to dodge Egon Tiedemann, Claudia harnesses the cave’s powers, and Katharina lashes out at Hannah.

So the mother of the hotel owner, she was the nuclear station director, she travels through time as well. She ordered this Time Machine clock.

Also, mother of Jonas is a top-notch bitch and Alexander is Boris. Is he a Russian spy Boris? There’s some conspiracy for sure.

Still, the whole setting feels like anti-atom propaganda. As yeah, buying gas from Russia is much better than nuclear energy, for sure.

The whole Chernobyl series from HBO tells the story for these normies, so they would probably realise that the issue is not the nuclear energy per-se, but the incompetence and especially the incompetence of the people in power. That’s all the fault of the USSR regime and its rotten system, not the nuclear energy.

I hope this storyline of ‘uhh, nuclear bad’ would change somehow in the next seasons.

It’s almost entire season, and the show is just meh by this point.

It’s an interesting flex on time travelling, yet not worth the investment of time, so far.

In 1953, the disfigured bodies of two boys are exhumed at a construction site, the future location of Winden’s nuclear power plant.

So the father of Jonas had met his father and his mother in 1953, so he travelled back in time twice of 33 years, 66 years.

Eventually, it’s getting more interesting. Out at least not that boring.

On a separate note, this series feels like German propaganda towards ‘nuclear is bad,’ which they did with that Russian shill from stazi, Merkel, who made Germany dependent on Russian gas.

So that farther of the Jonas, he attacked his work partner father in law, he made that scary scar. Technically, he is the reason all that happened.

I think it’s the wrong thing to attack a kid, even if you know for sure he would kill your kid. I won’t do that.

They introduce eerie music way too obviously when things are too creepy.

Ulrich questions a frail and frightened Helge in the nursing home. Jonas searches for Mikkel, but the stranger warns him about meddling with the past.

So the security guard in 86 is the father-in-law of the police officer in our timeline.

Also, I noticed that the year of the story is 2019, while the first season aired in 2017.

Mikel’s father found the old man entering his hut. What’s there? Another portal?

Can they travel through time as much as they want, or is the portal connects just a couple of endpoints? For now, it looks like the latter.

So the dates at the end of the episode are:

• 9.11.1953 Noah writes them with charcoal.

Ulrich looks to the past for answers and dredges up disturbing family secrets. Armed with new tools, Jonas probes the cave’s murky depths.

So, Jonas travelled to the past too. Took the same time his father Mikel too. So, potentially he can meet him. Also, Mikel’s father, Ulrich, found out that the boy that was found dead is his brother. And is supposedly of that same age. So probably he’s teleported from his time to the future.

It’s getting more and more complicated. Which I like.

But what I don’t like, it seems like they completely ignore the time space continuum, or whatever that thing is called in the Back to the Future.

When Jonas met some other guy, that one who gave him the flash light and edited his map, it looks like it’s him himself. Which is weird. What would Emmett Brown say? Actually, Emmett met himself too, but he from the future met himself from the past, not vice versa.

Okay, we’ll continue watching.

Hannah takes her obsession with Ulrich too far. The stranger asks Regina to deliver an important package. Martha is torn between Jonas and Bartosz.

Very rainy day. I like this timeline when they show the same character in two different timelines.

It’s getting at least a little bit better. Not that boring.

Who is Noah? He clearly travels through time.

Now we know that Mikkel is Michael, father of Jonas.

Bizarre occurrences give Charlotte a sense of déjà vu, and she suspects Peter is hiding something. Franziska snaps when Magnus confronts her.

No offence, but that’s akin to me getting to know all of the countless relatives of my wife. Trying to remember all those characters. Honestly, it’s almost half of the entire season, and I don’t understand how people got through this. I would give up on this show already, if not for my wife, who says it’s worth watching.

It’s 1986, and Ulrich’s brother, Mads, has been missing for a month. Confusion reigns as past and present intertwine.

Well, now it’s clear — perhaps with the help of my wife, who spoils me what would be — that Mikel would hand himself in the begging of the very first episode.

At least it starts a little bit more interesting. Still, a very boring series till this point.

When a grim discovery leaves the police baffled, Ulrich seeks a search warrant for the power plant. A mysterious stranger checks into the hotel.

Still, I don’t understand a thing. Still boring, I still believe there will be something worth watching.

As we now know, the boy teleported from 2019 to 1986, half a year after the Chernobyl catastrophe.

In 2019, a local boy’s disappearance stokes fear in the residents of Winden, a small German town with a strange and tragic history.

Looks like thriller, or a horror film. At this point nothing is clear. I don’t understand what’s happening.

Solomia issued some spoilers already, weeks before we started watching the show, so I forgot half of them.

Well, if she won’t tell me I should like this series, I’d give up on it already. Quite boring.
