This documentary is so different! Whilst David’s was about his (and his father’s) passion. I think it’s rather his father’s obsession that he forced on his son. Yet, somewhat successfully. The son got very famous.

Victoria… well, I’m not that guy — usually — who puts women down with all this patriarchial shit. I used to be patriarchial when I was young, but that was purely because of my background. Yet, while she argues about WAGs — wives and girlfriends — she’s the literal WAG with lots of free money.

At this point, the whole story feels like ‘we had a gazillion of money, and we were looking for the ways to put them somewhere, to at least not lose it, but better to make some money with these money’. That kind of thing.

Honestly, piece of shit documentary so far. I was never interested in who Victoria Beckham is/was, so, well, I won’t watch it on my own. Yet, since it came to my attention, I do watch it now.

With David, the documentary started with his parents. Here, we were told nothing about the parents. Who the fuck her parents are/were? All we know is that she was brought on Rolls-Royce to school. And we know it from the David’s documentary. So, apparently, she’s from a very rich family.

I quite love fashion, especially high fashion. But I love it from the men’s point of view, meaning rather businessmen’s even. I’d love to have a fashion brand, if I’d be that rich. It’s a marvellous money-making machine targeted at mostly WAGs, but not limited to them, of course.

They showed her mother for a second or two, where she was looking for Gin, but found Vodka. What the actual fuck, by the way? What was that about? At least we know she’s alive, because I thought she’s not. As they decided to skip on parents entirely. Why was Spice Girls being deformed? What happened? I guess we need to read Wikipedia about them, if they decided to just skip on that.

This reads rather a political advertising campaign, so insencere it all is. Really, it’s junk so far. As it’s just three episodes, I’m curious whether it’ll get better or not.

A history-making goal in 1996 puts David on the fast track to fame. Big spending and brand deals fuel his popularity — and attract a certain Spice Girl.

Oh wow! His voice is so thin! I have never heard David Beckham in my entire life! Haha!

Well, I have never been into the football. Rather the opposite. Most of the boys in my school were obsessed with football, and some of them were obsessed with David Beckham too. I was into basketball, and was obsessed with Michael Jordan instead. Football, I rather hated it. I thought that was stupid. Well, I was a bad player, obviously. And I didn’t know rules. LOL, I don’t know the rules today!

These days I’m rather indifferent to football.

The documentary is interesting, however. I like some moments. Namely, the Rolls Royce quote.

After enduring seven years of relentless job hunting and daily struggle, Yee-jae finally decides to end his own life. After death, he encounters a mysterious entity.

Aha, so South Korean cinematography isn’t far different from Japanese, in terms of violence. Well, why would it be, considering the nations are pretty close (geographically).

Parachute flight. How could he survive here?

Arisu and his friends run into a public bathroom to hide from the police, but when they reemerge, the streets of Tokyo are suddenly completely empty.

It starts not too interesting, to be honest. But it’s getting remotely interesting right before the animation scene.

It’s similar to Squid Game in its vibe.

But not very interesting. Will the next games be better?

The first game was them being in some tiny building, with death and life posters, but they make no sense. The girl opened life, and was killed instantly. So Arisu found a way to move through building.

Emily brings her can-do American attitude and fresh ideas to her new office in Paris, but her inability to speak French turns out to be a major faux pas.

Well, I’ve watched most of the 1st episode with my wife.

I won’t call it bad, it has its style, yet I won’t say I have the capacity for this series. My wife says it’s girlish, so I guess I’m not even going to watch it, and there is no sense in adding it into the might project.

Does not look like my cup of tea.

My wife likes the series, so might go as a recommendation from someone else’s in my counterpart blog, might.watch.

Language Barrier

On a side note, I see a lot of the US as Russia, in a bad sense of the word. As an empire too.

Coming to another country, expecting everyone would speak your language, and you knowning nothing of the destination country, none of its culture, a few words, expecting everyone would just listen to you and would understand you.

Of course, English is not Russian. It’s simpler, million times better language. It’s truly spoken everywhere, and is de-facto international language №1. Yet, the attitude is still the same. People are more likely to speak your language, yet you cannot expect that, actually.

France is a good example of a country that respects itself, its own culture and where people don’t feel obliged to learn English.

I must add, I’ve been there and I felt the same irritation when I was unable to communicate with people, beacause I was just a tourist with no French knowledge, but English. Yet, I understand that’s my problem, not locals.

That’s not the series issue, that’s the cultural one that the series just highlights.
